Skills

Skills may not be what you think.

There are many skills everyone has.  The first thought is that a skill is something a doctor or carpenter or teacher or gas station attendant has.  That a doctor can perform surgery, a carpenter can hammer nails to build things, a gas station attendant can talk well.  While they do have these skills, there are many other kinds of skills that are not easily seen.

1.  You may not know it but you have skills.  You may be able talk well or read well or write something down.

2.  You may be able to walk far distances, lift heavy objects.  You may at one point had a job you were good at, but were fired.

The point is, that you must search for your own personal skills.  Maybe you can drive a car.  Maybe you are bilingual and can speak two different languages.  You may be able to smile and act behaved.

Write a List

If you can, sit down, find a pen or pencil, and paper.  Write down as many skills you can think of.  Do not worry about whether these will mean anything.  They could be the ability to drink vodka or sell drugs.  Or that you know how an engine works.  It does not matter right now.

Eventually, knowing what you can do and what you cannot do will, in the end, get you a job, get you a place, get you all the things you need to survive.

These will be important, eventually, for Resumes, Applications, and Interviews for Jobs.  The more you know about what skills you have, the more you will overcome  the hardships you face.  You will find that there are many jobs out there that you can do, just by knowing your skills.
